NTUC WSH Secretariat is the advocacy unit of NTUC for Workplace Safety & Health. We seek to outreach and engage SMEs on the following:

Enlightening by strengthening WSH culture & awareness program on:

• Safety issues – causes and preventions of top 3 accidents via guidelines developed jointly with Singapore Institution Of Safety Officers (SISO).
  
• Health issue – causes and preventions of top workplace health via health talks, campaigns and intervention programs (such as healthy eating @ workplaces canteens)
  

Enabling by building competencies & creating awareness on following 3 areas: 

• Near-miss reporting - adopting near-miss reporting as a good WSH practice.
  
• Return-to-work - to enable injured workers to acclimatize to the work environment through potential job re-design / job scope.
  
• Risk Assessment being stipulated in contracts by companies that engage freelancers & contract workers - enable freelancers & contract workers to perform risk assessment to prevent accidents from occurring.

Safety is everyone's business, but the leader of an enterprise is responsible for setting the direction on how safe practices should be implemented, practiced, documented and improved on a continuing basis.

bizSAFE is a five-step programme that assists companies to build up their WSH capabilities so that they can achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace.

For a start to the bizSAFE journey, your enterprise's top management has to sign up for a bizSAFE workshop for CEOs/Top Management conducted by bizSAFE service providers. Upon completion of the workshop, your company will be granted bizSAFE Level 1 status.
